My goal is to capture one simplistic moment of your life. I am one of the few studios shooting both film and digital with darkroom facilities. We will shoot digital and film (upon request), and I will process your black & white film personally.

We offer straightforward photography with simple backgrounds. You and yours (family, pets, friends) are our focal points, not props and backdrops or digital manipulations.  We have no white wicker.  We do have a few simple muslin backdrops, brick walls, window light, unique handcrafted props, and a creative imagination.

I was raised a Kodak baby in Kingsport, TN. I won my first camera ( a "Brownie"!) at the Eastman Kodak Carnival Day when I was 6 years old, and have been snapping ever since. My fondest memories of my father are walking with him down the steps at the Eastman Recreation Center and smelling the darkroom chemicals -- I couldn't go in because I wasn't eighteen, but the smells and the voices always have stayed with me (as have the Ansel Adams mural prints on the walls of that building).

Drawing on a family history of art and photography, my education includes the BFA program at East Tennessee State University as a Studio Fine Art major, English and Business Adminstration minors, as well as ancillary courses in photography and art at David Lipscomb University and Nashville Technology Community College.

Awards include an honorable mention in Crossville, TN's 1999 "Depot Days" which was the first art/photograph entry I had ventured since high school. When the Renaissance Center opened in 1999 I was privileged to be the recipient of the Dickson City Council Award. The City Council purchased two pieces which are now included in the Renaissance Center's permament art collection.  In 2000, I had the opportunity to be included in a 3-artist exhibit ("Three Views") at the Tennessee Arts Commission Gallery.  Cheekwood honored me with a solo exhibit in the Frist Education Building from June to October 2005.  My art endeavors continue to be included in such local prestigious exhibitions as Artclectic, Artageous, Chattanooga's AVA show, and other regional and national exhibits. My work is included in numerous public and private collections, including the international collections of Polaroid Corporation and Caterpillar Financial Corporation.

In addition to being an adjunct instructor at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, TN; Plaza Artist Materials in Nashville, TN; the Sarratt Center at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN; and Cheekwood Museum of Art and Botanical Gardens, Nashville, TN -- I worked as a Creative Uses Consultant for Polaroid Corporation until Polaroid's 'reorganization', and continue to teach workshops and classes featuring alternative photographic techniques.

We successfully opened Main Street Photography in 2005 after operating out of our home for several years. We are very proud to be located in the historic downtown area of Kingston Springs and hope you will visit our studio located at 407 North Main Street in Kingston Springs.

There are photographers on every corner now, even in the small community I live in. My mission is to bring affordable, unique and artistic photography to my community at an affordable cost. I hope you will become a client. Call me -- 615-952-0110.
